Cambrian: 14.3%, Campbell: 42.9%, West San Jose: 42.9%

Cambrian/Burbank

I visited the Oster Neighborhood Association on January 30 to give updates about what my office accomplished in 2019 and the work ahead for this year.

West San Jose

My staff attended the introduction of the new Innovation Zone at Santana Row on January 16. The Innovation Zone spreads across West San Jose in Districts 1 and 6. This area allows tech companies to test their new technologies.

On January 17, I read to Ms. MacAskill’s kindergarten class at Payne Elementary. We read two books about being and loving your true self and about standing up for each other. They also taught me the Panther Pledge.

 2020 Women’s March San Jose

The D4 Team and I marched with thousands of people at the 2020 Women’s March San Jose on January 18. It was great to see so many participants and multiple generations of families supporting women.

My staff attended the Winchester Orchard Neighborhood Association meeting on January 27. Residents heard from a panel of candidates for State Senate about issues, including mental health among homeless residents and traffic mitigation.

Campbell

Food 4 Thought sidewalk office hours at the Campbell Farmers’ Market

I held my first Food 4 Thought sidewalk office hours at the Campbell Farmers’ Market on January 19. Thank you to everyone who came out to chat with me about what’s important to you and your community.

On January 24, I attended the Rainbow Chamber Silicon Valley’s 3rd Annual Impact Awards at Villa Ragusa. Congratulations to the award recipients! Your work is vital to the community.

My staff attended the Downtown Campbell Neighborhood Association meeting on January 25. Residents heard from Campbell Chief of Police Gary Berg, about Campbell’s first police canine, the bait package program and traffic safety around schools.

Santa Clara

Throughout the year, I come out to various outdoor farmers' markets and hold informal conversations with District 4 residents. No appointment is necessary, so you can just stop by and chat. I hope you can join me for my next Food 4 Thought sidewalk office hours on February 15 at the Santa Clara Farmers’ Market.

My first D4 Reads story time for 2020 will be at the Central Park Branch Library on February 20. I hope you and your little ones can join me.
