Nothing About Us Without Us: Involving Directly Impacted Youth in the Improvement of Our Juvenile Justice System

Programs and systems are very often not shaped by the people who are impacted by them. Our “Court Schools”, overseen by the County’s Probation Department, is just one example of that paradigm of design, but one that caught my attention because of the very real opportunity to dramatically improve outcomes for youth in our County — always something that is top of mind for me.
